Just putting this out here as I've been playing a lot of Skyrim again recently and I was reminded of my Skyrim nations game that was planned on the old site but never actually got a chance to run. I'm still up for it and we've yet to see a nations game on here, could be a good bit of fun. Anyway, to sum it up: this game would take place after the video game and each player would take the role of one of the Jarls, assuming all the responsibilities and power that come with such a title. What you do from there is up to you - do you want to seize power and become the new High King of Skyrim? Or are you content to close off your borders and let your enemies kill each other. Maybe you actually wish to forge alliances and your sights are set on wealth or prestige. Each turn of this game would likely be one month in-game time. Each new turn would probably be every 3 days or so. I do require that you've played the game before and know enough lore to get by before joining. The positions available are: Jarl of Solitude Jarl of Morthal Jarl of Markarth [Aegis] Jarl of Falkreath Jarl of Whiterun [Judge Death] Jarl of Dawnstar Jarl of Winterhold Jarl of Windhelm [Warork] Jarl of Riften [Nepty] Each one has its own unique properties, advantages and disadvantages, which I'll add to in more detail based on what's in the game. Obviously some notable locations such as guilds can potentially offer a great advantage however these will be under my control and won't necessarily work with or even support the Jarl in power in the hold. It'll be important to stay on the good side of these organisations if possible, especially if the province descends into all out war and people start being forced to choose sides.

I'm game, I'd totally like to be the Jarl of Windhelm. I think it'd be interesting to try to rebuild it or change it after the reign of Ulfric...of course that would depend entirely on what we agree the ending of the game in this universe was in regards to the war between the Empire and the Stormcloaks.
One more thing is the pictures of Skyrim you used...they're cool and detailed and all, but they're not fitting on the post correctly so you might want to resize them or put them in links.

Glad you are interested! And indeed we'll need to decide quite a few important things like the war.
As for the pictures, if they fit the post you wouldn't be able to see them in any detail so simply scrolling or opening it in a new tab to zoom is the best option to be sure.

Warning: the following contains spoilers for some of the possible outcomes and events in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If you haven't played it, then there's no point reading on and you should probably go and buy the game, because it's excellent.

4E 201, 200 years after the Third Era ended along with the Septim bloodline: The Dragons return to Skyrim.
The Dovahkiin, a Nord whose origins are lost to time, arose to become the single most powerful person in all of Skyrim. Not only did he turn the tide of the civil war in the favour of the Imperial army, he personally slew Ulfric Stormcloak - Shouting him from the Palace of the Kings after plunging his blade through his heart.
Shortly after peace was restored, the Dovahkiin defeated the World-Eater Alduin in Sovngarde, the Nord afterlife.
Upon his return, he not only continued to defend his homeland against the dragon threat, but also became a prominent person in every corner of the land. Over time he was not only granted Thane of each hold, earning the respect and gratitude of each Jarl, but he also became leader of the myriad Guilds that call Skyrim home.
With his power growing greater and greater, there was little he could not do, nowhere he could not go. He even defeated another Dovahkiin of great power.
However, the Dovahkiin grew power hungry, as nothing was able to stop him. He eventually called the Jarls to High Hrothgar - and none would refuse the savior of Skyrim - where he declared himself the new High King of Skyrim. No one was allowed to object. Even the Dovahkiin's old friend and ally, Jarl Balgruuf the Greater, could not convince the Dovahkiin to cease this madness. In response, the Dragonborn threw him off the very top of the Throat of the World, at the very place he had slain wise old Paarthunax years ago.
No one objected after that. The ancient and powerful Greybeards, perhaps the only ones who might have been able to match the Dragonborn's mastery of the Voice, did nothing to stop this - they had created the Dragonborn and chose to accept the consequences.
The Dragonborn had the remaining Jarls removed from power and declared a new law: that new Jarls would be elected and then serve for life. Such a drastic change from tradition was unheard of and many were displeased by this, especially former Stormcloak soldiers and sympathisers. Few openly challenged this and none lived to regret it. In further disregard for the old Nord ways, even non-Nords could potentially become Jarls now, something which would change Skyrim forever.
For awhile the Dragonborn ruled from Solitude, and surprisingly Skyrim prospered for a time. But eventually he grew bored - what more was them for him to do, what more could be overcome? He had reached the zenith of power, more than he had ever dreamed of. At long last, many decades since he defeated the World Eater, with Skyrim in safe hands and the numbers of the Dragons dwindling, he returned to High Hrothgar, not to be seen or heard from again for years to come.
Then there came a time when the great doors of High Hrothgar opened and the Dragonborn headed south towards Cyrodiil. It came to pass that he marched on the Imperial Palace, with none daring to nor even able to stand in his way and he confronted the Emperor. It is said that they talked for a night and a day and when all was said and done, the Dovahkiin killed the Emperor, whose father he had slain long ago as a member of the Dark Brotherhood. He usurped the position and of course there was resistance, however nothing could stop the Dragonborn forever. Some even believed him to be Talos reborn, after all - much to the disdain of the Aldmeri Dominion.
In fact, it has been nearly sixty years since the civil war ended, and many fear what was set in motion with the signing of the White-Gold concordat will soon come to pass. It is no secret that both the Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire had been biding their time, preparing armies for an inevitable war that was simply delayed - far longer than anyone expected, although the realms of man were grateful for it nonetheless.
The Dovahkiin Emperor is ready to lead his empire into battle, although some question whether the Thalmor's armies are still too powerful to be defeated. The tension is palpable in all the lands as everyone fears that each new day will see the war begin, signing the death warrant of uncounted peoples, both soldiers and innocents.
Meanwhile, in snowy Skyrim, the Jarls and Guilds have been left to their own devices for so long that everything the Dragonborn was once in control of has now fallen to whoever was next in line. The old Jarls who were voted in during the Dragonborn's reign as High King are either dead or have stepped down in their old age and new leaders have been chosen.
You are one of these leaders, and you will decide the fate of Skyrim in the days to come.
