As some of you might know, through reading or being a part of it, ROTCS III well and truly flopped. So, as I would like to complete the trilogy I thought I'd ask the question as to whether people would like to see a relaunch of the game in an attempt compelte the trilogy. Obviously, the form it will take is in question. I'm well aware that me adding complicated systems to a Nations game might have been the direct cause of it failing even if it does set it aside from other Nation games. So if you'd like to see it re-run, please vote above and thank you for your time. If you have absolutely no clue about what ROTCS was, then please do not vote as there won't be an appropriate option for it. Cheers Warrender EDIT: Darn, forgot 1 option. That option was if you didn't mind either way for Players and non-players. So if you fall in this category, please post below as well. EDIT2: The reason that no option for "I don't want to see it re-launched" was included was to prevent trolling and because the amount of votes made would indicate the level of interest anyway. 2 votes = No one cares

Not sure whether I'd play in it or not this time round. However, random thought, I think with your general experience with star-faring nations, a nations game where we were all part of one great nation that was beginning to fracture.. that'd be fun. So for example we're in a human space-age civilisation and each take the role of something akin to leaders of bodies in the equivalent of a space European Union except rather than countries we govern planets or systems.
I think that'd be a lot of fun and certainly would bring something new to the nations table and I can quite easily envisage you being able to pull off GMing such a game very well. The decreased in-setting time between turns and also likely more personal nature would be a lot of fun.
Food for thought anyway.

I like the idea and I'm certainly not beyond re-doing the entire background story for the third instalment if it gets it to work, even though I know me and Harrab spent months ironing out the original ROTCS III background, I won't let that deter me from being open minded.

Well, based on what little I remember it did have pretty OTT background mechanics. Maybe go lighter with mechanics on next time?

Not to be "that guy", but are the opinions of those who aren't part of the series rather pointless?

Not at all, I like to cover all basis so I can see things from a few angle's, such as how many people might have played but found it too complicated and therefore were put off joining the original game. Might be a tad overkill, but sounded good at the time

hehe. current votes are not suprising actually. I really need to learn my own advice of keeping it simple. Might mean my planned zombie nation game will never run in its planned format and require altering.

Not so much. Iron Age is at the top of my list and would give me time to review the relaunch. From the few that voted it looks as if "complication" is a no no, and in truth I'm not surprise nor sorry to see it go. I'll be looking to see if I can relaunch the original story for ROTCS III and just get rid of all that supplies stuff. I might be able to get away with just removing supply and food management or might have to remove the splitting of the flotilla too. If I can't do that then I'll have to completely remake the storyline as the whole idea was to be drifting flotillas, so kinda useless to have self sustainable fleets that never need to restock I'll ponder on it some more, I'm not rushing to release another half-soaked product
