Julius
Entrance hall
-----------------
After all that travel, he was finally here. Years of marching across this world, clawing and fighting, keeping the rampant magic within under control. It was not a fun experience, but it had taught the young smith what he needed to know. He took a moment to marvel the strange and surprisingly light armour he had been given. His thoughts went to how he could change it, make it stronger, more practical for a warrior on the front line - that had been his profession for a while, holding the line with a bunch of mercenaries in the far north of the empire. Thinking about that, he hefted his pack a little higher on his shoulder, his hammer inside. The sword he had brought all the way from home was at his belt.
As he walked into the mighty hall and heard the blistering tounge of the necromancy instructor lashing out at them all, the prospective students, he allowed his mind to blank out slightly. All he found in his thoughts was panic. What if he messed up? What if they threw him out? He'd gotten through the first stage of his training but what if he got it wro-
"Shut up, and listen" He murmured to himself, knowing no one else could hear. "You're going to learn to fly, then. Maybe not literally, but your spirit and magic will. Now calm yourself"
The stern inner voice steeled his soul, and he felt the iron resolve that had gotten him here well up in his heart. Glancing around, he saw a few other students exercising their magic, or walking off to find food or rooms. A Drenai girl caught his eye, and he stared for a moment - he'd never really seen one this close before, at least one not clad in plate and trying to kill him.
Snapping out of it, Julius started on his own way, wandering through the halls. His eyes were wide as he let them explore every shadow and pillar, the walls feeling the touch of his hands. After a clipped discussion with an inquisitor - another thing that fascinated him. It was hard to resist asking to see the sword - he got directions to his room and found it soon enough, dumping his stuff in there. He set off once more.
His feet clicked and clacked on the stone, till he came to a large doorway full of a different type of light to the torches of the hall. Moonlight. Stepping out, he found himself in the middle of a wonderful garden, and his eyes lit up in delight as he breathed deeply of the flowers and smell of the earth.

Night
Asleep
------------
The garden had reminded him of many camps he'd slept in on his way here. Those nicer ones, with a friend to talk with till sleep, and the soft brightness of a fire with its comforting blanket of heat. How he'd loved those nights. They were always the warmest, and the best for sleeping. The Garden, within the mighty academy as it was, held no chill for a man of the north - laying among a stand of flowers he was soon fast asleep.
It was hardly more than two hours of rest before an inquisitor showed up. The heavily armoured Guard knelt beside the aspiring runesmith, and shook him by the shoulder. Immediately awake, and with a cold streak through his soul, the man stared up at the tall Elven women dressed in fine armour. It took a conscious and very powerful effort not to grab for the nonexistant dirk at his hip.
The soft eyes of the elf were a very stark contrast to the metal helmet that encased her skull, though the clipped voice removed any thought of softness from his mind. "Your rooms aren't here, Student. Please, return to them."
He sat there and looked at her for a moment, eyes especially enraptured by her weapons and armour. "I'm sorry, miss, but I've been sleepin' under these stars for many a year now. I wanted to give them one last look before I slept in a proper bed again" Julius felt like she was about to give another order, but instead recieved a clipped nod instead. Turning and walking away, the young man caught his eyes moving to something other than armour...closing his eyes, he grumbled to himself about inquisitors being out of bounds and went back to sleep.

Garden --> Castle forges
----------------------
The sunlight woke him up. Springing from the soft ground, he stretched quickly, utterly surprised that he wasn't cramped and in pain - he had slept in his new armour after all. Glancing at the sky, he grinned brightly, then set off back towards his room. It took a minute, but he remembered the way.
When he got there, he found his stuff where he had left it. Flexing his arms, throwing them out to the back, he felt that the armour was light enough for him to wear while persuing his craft, but he didn't feel right in it. Taking his hammer, and a set of other tools he'd need, he set off to find the castle forges. The old leather apron he'd also taken from his home in the norht under his arm.
