In the case of the duel, the two nobles know that whilst they'd love to shove Tarsus into their swords, the scary bodyguards might be dissuading them from their course of action.

Alright, first off. The event has now taken a darker turn now that the Lady Corwin has arrived. In addition, The Glass Ninja is now joining up with me as Co-GM, since my plate has been rather full in comparison to what I was anticipating.

You've got that right, and Tarsus intends to survive to tell the story, and save the princess in the process. Good times, good times... ..Oh yeah, I totally hope you guys survive too!

If I`m not mistaken this is a Eversor Assassin, surviving is the least of our worries, making sure we die a non-excruciatingly painful death is. I vote a bullet to the brain.
On a more serious note, if it is a Eversor then we cant kill him without him exploding and killing us, so lets try to kill him from afar.

That's my thinking too, it's just that there is no way even with a hood someone with a great big skull helmet would get in amongst so many people without being noticed. That's silly, if I'm honest. But there isn't really anything else it could be and there is no feasible way we should be able to kill it mind you but if the plot demands it, then it shall be so!

I don't ask how it got in when its already in, I`ll worry about that when I make it out alive XD.
How would we stop it though? I mean we have a psyker with us now, but even then I don't think we`ll drop it in time. I feel running and living to see another day might be the only choice we got.

Eh, the GM in me gets frustrated by things that don't make a lick of sense. If this party had a mask/costume theme going for it and was all dark and gothicy then that would've been sweet and an amazing "Holy shit!" moment with the slaughter beginning to the sound of screams and space dubstep (or fancy orchestral noble stuff, I get the impression it's one or the other in 40k, no inbetween) in the dark, and no one can tell who the hell is who as neon lights flash casting different colours of illumination on the masked figures freaking the hell out in the chaos. But as it stands I wrote the only logical outcome, where everyone ran for the door (except us, being the trained navy men we are/bloody surprised) and the assassin obviously caught up to them, so that direction is a bloodbath. Unless the good lady wotsherface has a secret escape root we'll have to plant our feed and dakka the hell out of it. I mean, we have enough personal firepower to do so, even if it really IS an eversor. Actually hitting it and it actually dying in a timely manner due to its combat drugs is a whole other thing to worry about.

Alright. I'm seeing some minor confusion to the nature of an Eversor and how he got into the party. Lord Kaldwell is known for being very secretive, especially in the few instances he goes into public, wearing a mask of some sort.
Eversors also just wear a skull mask, not the big huge funky anti psychic cannon thing Culexus' wear.

Hmm, it's useful to put info like that in the story to set up reveals so they make sense, hell I guarantee you that one of the players would've gone up to chat to Lord [whatever] and then surprise! Imperial assassin. Now that would have been hilarious, if only because Tarsus would've already been too preoccupied starting fights to be the one getting skewered.
