A more permanent thread where myself and Warrender can post about small updates and changes rather than keep adding multiple threads.
So, new additions:
- zombie mini game - chess mini game - spell checker - word counter - PM notifications - Off-site link warnings - Whisper tags - Dice rolling mechanic - Recent threads sidebar
There are others that I haven't fully looked into, but you can probably expect more of these minor but useful/fun additions to the forum in the future. Some of these may not work properly or may be confusing, post questions below.

Depends though, you can use the mechanics much more easily for the sake of not trying to get people together.

Looks like Pen and Paper games being run on the site just became a lot more viable! P&P games seem to work best with voice chat thought. It depends what kind of game people feel like doing. If they want to do the once-a-week kind of thing, then they're perfectly free to do so. But, ever since a number of us including myself have gotten a lot more into P&P games, it would be a glaring oversight not to include and encourage the option for people to play them on here. It's a niche, but one I'd rather have than not. It also removes time constraints/organisational difficulties as Aegis pointed out just now. There's also the much greater detail that people can go into in their writing, of course. Neither way of doing things is better, they both provide different experiences. In any case, I may try to run one again some time in the near future.

The chess game doesn't appear to be working. If we can get it to work then I suggest we keep chess games by people in the general mini-games area and not allocate a separate section for it. All I ask is people try to name them with a uniform format like "[CHESS] Bob vs Charlie" When I installed one a few weeks ago I noticed that not only does the forum already have an inbuilt checker but the one I chose didn't appear to work correctly, so not sure we need this. I haven't seen anything misspelled to date that it doesn't already pick up. Word counter is a nice touch, and can be swapped to a character counter too. Very useful. PM notifications not needed in my opinion, it's plainly seen at the top of the screen anyway so not sure we need a notification function. Off-site link warnings. Meh, I'll go with the masses on this one. For me it's not a problem to just click the back button but others might appreciate the feature. Whisper tags. Will look into this one more, I know we can PM multiple people and single people at once but this could possibly prove useful in Nation games when wanting to give out all the information in one post but keep peoples secret info private. Also in normal RP's when you want certain player(s) to have additional knowledge on the sly for purposes of the game, ie, they know something the rest of the group doesn't know. Dice rolling mechanic. Not useful yet, but if DnD kicks off it could be very interesting as players can't accuse the DM of changing dice rolls to suit their whims. Recent threads sidebar. I think this spot would be better reserved as a "Recent Games" section that only lists active RP's/Nations being played. Perhaps if agreed we can specify with sections this plugin will look at. Those are my musings, I had only intended to add a few plugins here and there to trial, didn't think you'd add the whole datatbase Darko! But some of these are going to be damn useful. EDIT: I just looked, yes we can specify pages.

EDIT: I just looked, yes we can specify pages. The chess game names itself like that anyway which is good. There must be a way to make it work and we're just being thick and can't see it. The benefit of this new spell checker is to make much faster corrections, which is VERY useful for our roleplaying games in particular - I suspect that dyslexic users/those who aren't interested in maintaining a high level of spelling in general will appreciate it most of all. It's a useful function I'd say. Word counter is very useful as you say. Doubt we'll ever use the character counter mind you. PM notifications one is not the most necessary, no, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have it. I also find that if I PM people fairly new to the site they often appear to miss the message for some time, so it is largely with them in mind to make sure they don't miss anything. Plus, on mobile, it makes it much easier than scrolling all the way to the top and clicking tiny links to get where you need to go, much more useful to have a pop up that says click me to go right where you want to go. Off-site warnings are a worthy addition in my opinion, most other sites have them and with good reason. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, in any case. Whisper tags will indeed be rather useful, I think. Dice rolling is as you say. Recent threads sidebar, I don't know if it's worth restricting it just to roleplays because everyone knows which games they're in and which games are running because usually we only have one or two, maybe three at most. I'd say it's best just to leave it as is as it encourages activity across the site as a whole.

So, adding quite a few new things. Warrender Removed chess and zombies. Added: - drawing (see the recent thread I made on that) - simple tagging (tag people who have posted in the thread at the click of a button, they get a notification just like if they were tagged normally, although most people don't know how to do that.. I'll need to write a guide on it some time) - quote selections (which means you can highlight certain parts of a post and quote that instead of quoting entire messages and having to delete lots of it to get the small bit you want when editing your post) - activity bars (a rough gauge of how active everyone is in certain areas of the site, useful for pretty much everyone. Before someone comments saying 'you turned posting into a competition' that would imply there are rewards.. of course the more posts the better in general on the site, and yes, I know quantity =/= quantity, that's not what it gauges) - added different colours for posts made today and yesterday. Will likely add more before I'm done today.

I have added a quick-quote function, allowing you to simply high-light a section of text in someone's post and then it will give you the option to quote only that part.

I have added a gallery section that works purely for posting images, very good for storing things for use in a RP etc. Note that any spam or inappropriate images and anything that generally violates the rules will result in harsh penalties.
Other than that, test it out and have fun.
Also, I have removed the 'recently updated threads' sidebar and instead added a karma system. Everyone starts at 100, exalt adds 1 karma and smite deducts 1. You can only give or take karma once every 15 minutes. Abuse of this system (e.g. constantly exalting or smiting one person for no reason) will result in a ban.
