Class listTHIS IS WIP!!!
No real details here yet guys. But I did want to give you a general list of the sort of stuff I've got planned. There are five overall categories which within them have five classes to choose from.
Now, I know some don't have all five or fleshed out descriptions, as I said, WIP. Each one will bring something different to the table and effect stuff at the start of character creation, such as perhaps altering your stats and providing new perks.
---------
FighterThis class is the most focused on pure combat ability, whether at range or in melee combat. Physical toughness is often favoured to create a tank, often using either strength or perception to augment their damage depending on whether they favour melee or range.
Barbarian - Usually the strongest and the meanest of fighters, Barbarians are all about hitting as hard as possible with each attack.
Warrior - A balanced fighter, most often fighting with a weapon in one hand and a shield in the other.
Tactician - These fighters see past what is in front of them - their true skill lies in seeing the entire battle and directing the efforts of others. Although they are still skilled fighters in their own right, they excel as front-line leaders in the very heart of battle.
Knight - Many of the most skilled fighters are Knights. They tend to be tough and dangerous, never taking a step back and being the last one standing at the end of a battle.
Gunner - A type of fighter who mostly prefers powerful ranged weaponry over close combat weapons.
---------
MageThe catch-all class for dedicated magic users.
Wizard - Often very wise and well-studied individuals, they tend to have a broad understanding of magic through study and practice.
Sorcerer - Those who eschew Wizardry and official tutoring in the magical arts, often using it selfishly. Many specialise greatly in one area of magic, particularly destructive ones.
Spellsword - A dedicated warrior mage who fights with both conventional weaponry and magic. They are diverse and adaptable fighters but usually not very specialised.
Elemental - A type of mage entirely dedicated to one aspect of elemental magic: fire, earth, water or air.
Druid - A nature mage who has a broad understanding of nature magic.
---------
RangerThis class offers a hybrid between melee and ranged combat. They also tend to focus on another set of skills.
Hunter - Hunters are notably skilled at tracking their prey. They need patience, intelligence and a keen eye.
Archer - A type of combatant who focuses on dealing ranged damage.
Gunslinger - Another type of ranged combatant, who focuses on using more advanced ranged weapons, typically pistols.
Engineer - The Engineer is an intelligent person who employs esoteric or unique technology, making them a rare sight but not unheard of.
---------
Rogue Hired killers, thieves, pirates and other vagabonds for the most part. These are often people who make their living through less scrupulous and generally illegal methods.
Thief - Swift and sneaky, Thieves know how to get in and out of places unseen as well as being adept at stealing. Whether they need to pick a lock or pocket, they are the person for the job.
Assassin - A professional killer who is not clumsy like a sell-sword, instead they prefer subtlety and stealth. If they can kill their prey before they're even aware of them, all the better.
Pirate - From outlaws to privateers, Pirates are never more home than on the deck of a ship. Some are merchants, others explorers, while more still are black-hearted killers. A common ambition of many Pirates is to lead other men, preferably aboard their own ship. They also tend to value their freedom greatly.
Duellist/Swashbuckler - Expert swordsmen, masters of single combat.
---------
ClericDivine warriors, priests, holy persons or similar, possibly following an evil power and not just good ones. They might not necessarily even be holy per se but instead simply serve as a disciplined member of a particular faction or order. Some are strong fighters in their own right, while others like to support their fellows or even use magic.
Priest - The servants of some higher power, most commonly the Light, the Balance or the Dark, they may lead simple, unassuming lives or they may be filled with religious fervour. Regardless, they dedicate their lives to advancing the edicts of their God. Not all worship a God however and some are servants of particular Daemons who, for one reason or another, actually establish themselves in the physical realm and draw followers to worship them. Some Priests use limited magic.
Paladin - Holy Knights who form the closest things many holy organisations have to an army. While most often working together to destroy some grave threat, or protect a holy person or relic, it is not unheard of for them to wander the world alone. They complement their already deadly fighting prowess with offensive magic.
Monk - These come in many forms. Some are peaceful wise men or isolated hermits who found spiritualism at the edge of the world, while others are extremely disciplined orders of warriors.
Shaman - Most often hailing from simpler societies or remote settlements, these magic users tend to be very spiritual and set in their ways. Their skills are passed down generation to generation, mostly focused on helping the communities they were born into. Each one is also often a lore-keeper, who remembers the culture and stories of disparate peoples spread out across the world. If one is lost without passing on their wealth of knowledge, an entire culture is often destroyed. Their main focus is most usually on healing and enchanting.
Templar - The most zealous of fighters, who bring heretics and rogue mages to justice. They do not use magic themselves and most are trained specifically to counter magic users' abilities, making them effective witch hunters.
