EDIT: Sorry to edit this, Harrab CyberneticsWith Ship technology advancing in leaps and bounds, other sectors, like medical and communications were dragged along with the discovery of new minerals, ideas and an abundance of funds and developers. Among these developments was Prosthetic or Cybernetics, the replacement of limbs and organs with machinery, but mostly due to injury or sickness, Medical experts worried about the mental or physical effects of simply ripping out healthy organs to replace with tech. The most common of these is the Neural Communication Implant. As the name suggests, the Implant is a chip inserted into the brain, a throat mic under the skin, and a fine layer of fibers into the eyes that allows the recipient to perform tasks that one required smart phones or computers. Users can even have mental talks with friends or family across the galaxy via the FTL comm network as if talking via a comms terminal or internet video chat, with an animated representation of the speaker shown in the lower portion of the receiver's veiw, although time lag is a common side effect of communication over such long distances. Therefore, most long distance messages are pre-recorded. In the early days, there were fears that with the advancement of AIs and Cyber warfare, these implants could be hacked to make someone act against their will, but this was soon discovered to be baseless fears, the implants have no control over the motor skills or cognitive functions of the person they implanted in,limbs and organ replacements don't have any wifi functions regardless, and the NCI is more akin to a radio than a part of the brain.

If you guys want to create your own ship, feel free. In fact i might devise a points sytem so any designs you come up with are the same tier as the ones i provided. Or i might be lazy and say, come up with something cool, but basic.

I'm going to be looking at a few ships that are similar to the ones you posted so as not to be too estranged. As for captains, I won't be reviving my char from the Fleet Command games as I swear he's cursed but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Can't design an AI as you already have that covered.

Yeah, it'd be more apt to call the Mass Effect based joke as a Somme Class Frigate, named after the first example of its kind, the Somme, commanded by Captain Herder.

Found this and thought it was pretty cool: cdn.astroempires.com/images/charts/small_ships_chart.jpgI'm going to be looking at a few ships that are similar to the ones you posted so as not to be too estranged. Indeed, you must be a humble meatbag
