It is the year 2076. The worlds teen and young adult population are falling into comas and no one can figure out why. Their bodies are transported to a hospital building that was previously vacant and was once used for the successful trial of what people are calling "Mingmai". When a human dies, the data from their brain is saved onto a chip and stored, so that memories may be accessed by loved ones. The servers holding the data, accessible if a family member brings in a blank chip, are located on the basement level.
Humans in catatonic state are tended to by AI driven staff, repurposed robots of all backgrounds. One day, the staff notice a red light blinking in the far corner of the basement room, accessed only for dusting. The light is labeled "Subject 0".
The play characters consist of nursing and janitorial staff, as well as secretaries designed to help people access the Mingmai servers. Each player character will be assigned a "defect" caused by the Mingmai anomaly.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
You may choose three skills from a skillset that would make sense, i.e. admin bots having hacking and persuasion, nurse bots being precise and having higher diplomacy, and janitorial bots having speed and stealth. There are drawbacks. Should you choose to engage an infected AI, admins will be weaker than janitors. HOWEVER, admins will be more physically pleasing. The past of your bot is what makes them unique, and more of their former skills will return to them as they progress.

Whats the goal or will that be revealed later? also, in regards to character creation, do the re-purposed role and the original role have to be similar, and also, do we have any restrictions as to what the roles both past and current can be?

The goal is you've encountered an error and its getting worse. Did that part not go through? phooey. Also you want to help your ward. AI, not VI. They do not have to be similar, but they can be if you want them to be. it either can make a min-max type chara, or a balanced chara. maybe something with a more useful skillset.

Oh so Mingmai is the human memory storage and its got something wrong with it, and that's causing us Ai's linked to it to have errors too.

Alright I'm interested and am thinking of a character, but do you have any more world information that can help?
