Here we go again, long overdue.
The competition will begin at 8pm on Tuesday 8th of December, in my timezone (for those who don't know: (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London). It will last one hour and thirty minutes (slightly longer than the last one, as people seemed to feel a bit rushed... while there's meant to be a level of pressure, more than anything I want to encourage people to be adaptable writers, using their initiative. And of course have fun!
We also can't forget that the winner gets bragging rights!
Please register your interest below so that I know you will be partaking. Last time we had three participants, but I'm hoping to have more this time!
The subject matter (which will be probably 3-6 fairly broad options) will be revealed right at the start of the competition, to prevent anyone pre-writing or pre-planning. Remember, you will be judged on the quality of your writing rather than the word count, although I recommend aiming for at least 750-1000 words. A 900 word short story that is polished and reads well will be much better liked than a 2500 word behemoth with godawful grammar, uninteresting narrative and feeling generally rushed. That said, some would argue quality has a quantity of its own! However you want to approach this is ultimately up to you.

CHANGE OF PLANAfter thinking about how the last one went, with people writing under pressure simultaneously (which made it very competitive to be sure), and how it also limits who can participate due to RL commitments and differing timezones, I've decided the competition will actually run until midnight on Saturday (by my time). The word limit for entries is 2000 words, with a minimum of 1000. Here are the options available to write about for this competition: 1) A piece ending with the line '...and that's how everything I love was destroyed in twenty-four hours.' 2) A story that uses time travel. 3) A story about a character with multiple personality disorder. 4) The theme of innocence. 5) A piece titled 'The Victorious Dead.' 6) A purely comedic piece of fiction. Those are your options, I aimed to keep them varied so that hopefully we end up with a wide selection of interesting stories. Remember, once you've written it, PM it to me. When the competition is closed, I will post all of the entries in one go. Remember, all pieces must be titled and you must state in the PM which option you chose. If you are taking part, please do post below to declare your involvement. Thank you, and good luck.
