Right, just to keep things easy I'm going to point out a few things:
1. I'm pretty sure we've collectively mentioned stashing a bunch of the shit we've come across in the battlewagon since we "liberated it into the Emperor's service."
2. I know there was an armory in the bunker we evacuated before we got here that Lucinda and Rook's boys raided before we left.
3. That battlewagon had a whole bunch of shit like lascannons and other energy weapons strapped to it before we crashed. They're still probably bolted onto its carcass.
All three of these together I think is enough to suggest that we could probably daisy chain a melta bomb or some demolition charges with some lascannon batteries/plasma guns into a big enough boom to collapse both the lift shafts or at least a huge section of the stairwells in each of them.
If that's what you guys think your characters would gravitate towards in the moment, I say we give it a shot. Even if we end up caving ourselves into the bottom of the citadel we can still wipe out the orks on the surface...if we survive the ride down.

See, I don't know. Yorck is okay with blowing holes into things, but mainly for entering/exiting places.
Don't think he's keen on blowing up stairs and risking the lifts as collateral.

I mean, being honest, Rook kind of sees it as "this was always a one way trip" kinda deal anyway. Once we go down on the lifts we aren't coming back up that way because the staircases/lifts will be full of orks. Our only way is forward and blowing the descents might buy us time from the orks anyway. We'll still have to deal with the daemon but at least just dealing with that instead of that AND a horde of orks will be easier...however slight.
We just gotta hope that there's another way out once we get down there and if not...well...we did our duty.

See my last post on the previous page, it corroborates and/or elucidates on every point you've made here but possibly it got skipped over? Maybe not but your post reads like maybe it was missed.if I'm wrong my bad! Only looking to help keep everyone on the same page!

Oh my bad, I did see that post where you listed the possibilities, I was just trying to lay out all the specific things I could think of that we've done over the course of the game to this point that would justify the specific plan to blow the stairwells. I mean if we're both in agreement that its an option then I guess I know what post I'm writing

At this point I think Yorck is also probably a little concussed so I don't think he'd be quick to stop anyone from blowing up the staircase. But as Darko said it would slow them maybe a little more than they already are being slowed.
If I read it right then you're looking at stairs with 1-2 people allowance per step and no O' Sha mandated guardrails.

He's your character to write as you will and I figured some disorientation but I consistently wrote him as recovering faster than most of the characters due to his previous experiences as an inquisitorial stormtrooper and throughout the game. So while I appreciate attention to accuracy don't feel you must handicap him too much!

As for what plan if any you proceed with, that's entirely up to you guys. And no one said you all had to do the exact same thing - the most important thing is staying true to your individual characters and letting things evolve naturally from there.

So shooting someone for insubordination is on the table.
