So I got into an argument because of alignments.
Basically two rogues and a bard were in a town. The bard and one rogue were making money by doing tricks and such, while a chaotic evil rogue went around and failed pickpocket tests and ND got caught. He tried to implicate the other two in a scheme and the bard talked the guards into believing that he was a terrible person and that he had kidnapped her and that he should maybe be killed. The bard player then exclaimed that that was how you play chaotic evil.
People were saying yeah it's true, that's a chaotic evil action. I said it wasn't, it was more neutral than anything else.
They said having him killed was chaotic and I said that chaotic isn't the willingness to get someone killed, it's the willingness to not follow the rules or laws.
Then a guy said he had played for longer than a decade and that it was chaotic evil, I've played more than a decade as well and I say it wasn't because she was defending herself and her other rogue partner from the false accusations of the other rogue.
I even said the other rogue was more chaotic evil than the bard because he was openly disobeying the law, continued to do so, and then actively lied to try to get the other two in trouble in order to save his own skin by getting them involved.
But no, apparently I was wrong because chaotic means you want to kill people...
I mean chaotic alone isn't about murder, it's about rebelling and not following the rules. Robin hood never murdered anyone and he's chaotic good, and chaotic good people can kill others if they deem it as a good act that will save people. But no, because she got the guy trying to get them in trouble killed, she's chaotic evil. Get real.
