Yes, yes, another DH thread.
I'm still interested in testing out how a PbF works and have yet to see one be played. May as well still to classics I suppose.
I'm not sure about the plot yet, but I intend for this to be a game where players start at rank 5 (3,000-5,999XP) so that they are quite competent and skilled.
For those unsure, this is definitely to be played here on the site.
If you are unsure of the rules and such, you can still play of course, you'll just need to get in touch and receive a lot of guidance with creating a character.
A note on skills seeing as people get confused about the terminology a lot:
Untrained basic = this is a basic skill for you, however you are not trained in it and may only use it at half of your relevant characteristic score
Trained basic = you possess this basic skill and you are trained in it, you can take it with no standard penalty
Trained = this is an advanced skill, meaning it is not a basic skill (under normal circumstances) and you must be trained in the skill in order to use it.
Skill mastery: There are two levels of skill mastery, +10 and +20. These are listed as, for example, Intimidate +10. That means you would get +10 to Intimidate checks.
Talented (skill) - this is a talent (written as Talented (skill) which gives you a +10 in the relevant skill. This can be combined with skill mastery for a +30 to a skill.

Character creation.
The classes that are definitely available:
- Assassin
- Guardsman
- Adept
- Arbitrator
- Priest
- Psyker
- Scum
- Tech Priest
- Sister of Battle/Adepta Sororitas [with GM permission]
Obviously you guys won't want to be stuck with starting gear so you will get a decent sum of thrones to spend, I haven't decided yet but it will probably be 2-3 thousand so that's something to keep in mind.
You're rolling stats normally - in order with the appropriate modifiers with the allowance of one re-roll, but you must accept the second roll even if it's worse.
For advanced careers - I will allow them if you consult with me first.
Background packages are also allowed if you meet the prerequisites, just be sure to note it down clearly on your sheet and work it into your written background.
Be sure to list your weapons and gear with the book they're from and the page number. (I'm allowing most books, if you aren't sure then stick to the standard book and the Inquisitor's Handbook, ask about anything else)
The same goes for armour but it'll also need AP and such filled in of course for quick reference.
Also list every advance you take, be it skill, talent, trait or characteristic advancement, or even an elite advance (of course there's unlikely to be any of those at the start unless you really need something to fit your character and you can't get it normally, then we must discuss it and an appropriate explanation and XP cost). Also list the rank it was taken from and of course ensure the order you take everything in is the same as how it is written down. It's very important to keep track of this.
If you get the same talent twice or more in character creation, keep only the first and replace the second with Talented (choose one).
If you get the same skill trained twice you gain skill mastery in that. E.g. you gain Charm trained twice in character creation, and thus it becomes Charm +10.
Of course the last two points only apply to things you get from your homeworld and career, not what you spend XP on. You cannot purchase the same thing twice.
Starting XP is 4,000.
