It's good to know you're so stubborn you can't accept you're wrong. You just lost one more member.

As a user looking into this discussion approximately a few hours after walls of text, I'd say you're being too stubborn. On this site, the only effort you spent into joining a game was a playpen game with a character that was drastically different from what the setting would allow. It is not the mods, the admins or the users that have spent no time, it is you who have spent no time on doing anything on the site. We're a strong forum with a much more compact userbase, so what?
Numbers don't mean shit.
What matters is content, and admittedly, we're not as strong on making our games last, but we want to finish a game, and that's what counts. Much more, we lost so much with the crash of the old site that the current state of the rebuild is running quite fine.
You are the one who is blind, and if you so choose to leave, I expect you back within a year.

Hey, lets not get hostile, we are all at least equals here if not friends. If he has specific views towards this site then let him have them, I don't think aggression is really needed, and plus you have your own view of this site you would like HIM to respect as well. I think there is a lot of things we can agree on, and one of those is revitalizing this forum, lets not divide over trying to get people to come together. Everyone has their own ideas and we gotta respect them and take them with a grain of salt. I have a few ideas I`d like to put up, but I`m stripped for time and will get them up after school tonight, but I don't want us at each others throats. We are better than that.

Much more, we lost so much with the crash of the old site that the current state of the rebuild is running quite fine. You are the one who is blind, and if you so choose to leave, I expect you back within a year. I was actually going to let this go but the blatant untruthfulness of it really ate at me. I attempted to join the dark souls game, which failed, I tried to get a game of my own running, and only one person showed interest, I put a character into your playpen game on a whim after you repeatedly ignored my questions and was subsequently rebuffed. I made a character and participated in silver halls, but regrettably had to abandon it because of a variety of issues related to the ongoing troubles I have with my laptop, the snub of my character's attempt to actually learn something didn't help. I was essentially ousted from Darkness falls because of apparent power creep, I made a nose towards joining tyranny of the oberost which was never replied to, and was in discussion with HG about rebooting an old favorite strategy game of ours. Although that might have been the previous iteration of the site my memory wanes. So don't you dare fucking tell me I didn't put effort into this site. I redeveloped the entire engine of my rpg to play exclusively on this site and it was never shown any real interest in from more than a couple of people. I've had friends and dare I say it brothers on this site who I enjoy gaming with a great deal and have formed friendships with over years of camaraderie. Don't speak of what you don't know aegis, please, for all our sanity. Finally I would like to point out that I have nearly double the number of posts that you have on this site. And I'm not known for my brevity. One might equally question how much effort you put in aegis. Edit One more thing while I'm thinking about it, Darko, just because I don't always log in doesn't mean I don't look around, I have this tab pinned to my browser bar so I do end up having a look around literally every day.

I really do respect the maturity you're displaying here, it's very good to see. It's simply that in this instance the user has a bit of a history, understandably to someone less familiar with what happened in the past on the old site it would seem a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, but I assure you there was plenty of good reason for it. If you really want to know more about it, feel free to ask other members of the staff or userbase but this is not the place for it, of course. Now, all that aside, I am interested in your thoughts on the site currently, being the newest member.

So this is on my phone, so bear with my potential typos.
I really like this site and its people, and I did 3 years ago when I left, it was fun rp'ing and yall were doing well for yourselves. Now that I've come back things seem to be opposite, but it doesnt mean we cant reverse this. I have a few ideas up my sleeve, some are repeats but we gotta get them going regardless, but I feel if we do just one or two of any of the ideas in this thread we'll pick up momentum.
My first idea has been stated by multiple other people, and it hasnt been done yet so I want to reiterate it. We need to recruit from other forums, I know I have gone and rebooted my Dakka account and have an RP I'll be posting up by the weekend, but we need others to either participate in this or go and do the same for other sites.
My second idea, actually get people already here to participate. I know I've jumped onto several rp's and I will join most anyways, but we have all these frequent visitors that dont post. And yeah I'm talking to all the lurkers, I see you, I'm on all times of the day. But also people say they dont like what's there, and not being a fan of nations I could agree, BUT you dont ever say what you wany beyond vague descriptions, or you never make an RP for yourself. As stated, nations are not my kind of games, but I'll jump on 90% of other games, and I feel most people only want to RP a specific thing. None of my favorite roleplay scenarios are even suggested as ideas here, and yet I still will RP in just about everything. We cant get anywhere without participation in the less interesting things, otherwise a few people just recommend ideas and we stagnate to nothing. I have a few ideas, two are posted, but I dont want to post them because idk what yall want. Again come up with what yoy want, say it, then someone or yourself can go and pitch an idea. But before all that, we need participation in the current games. The new god nations seems popular along with the Tainted Stars, unfortunately the former is closed for entry, but the second isnt. And there are plenty of ideas in the idea forum just waiting to be picked up. So whether or not you like it, go and join one. I feel that is a reasonable thing to ask all of us.
Lastly, and this is no offense to anyone, but the ideas are all the same. All are serious nations and fleet currently, with a few ideas that are all sci-fi. Now I realize we all here love lasers and tyranids, but we need diversity, like where is the witch hunters or tank commanders. Where is the funny little one word RP's that take 5 seconds and generate plenty of laughter, or hell where is the atypical zombie game. We need more ideas, and I'd put all mine out, but I've never gm'd beyond one game. I want to learn, but I cant run more than two games at once and learn ag the same time. So here is the actual activity for this part, I say we make a thread for pitching ideas. What we like we vote yo keep and what we dont we vote to abandon. After everyone has submitted one idea or pitch, we either forge them into one story or we vote on the one we all want to do. The only thing to pitch an idea is that you should have to participate in the rp when its finished being developed. Its plain and simple, everyone gets a say and we all get something of what we like, or at least a chance to get it. I mean this is just a rough idea of how I see it working, but I would participate for the chance to get an idea I want in an rp whether or not its big or small.
Anyways, I hope I've put forth some good ideas, and reiterated on some we need to do. Sorry for the typos and such, again I'm on a phone.

Right, I've seen enough. I Understand that the well being of this forum is a hot topic and close to the hearts of all of us, and it's touching to see in a way, but that does not mean we have to do a insult sniping fest or claim that our number of Posts makes us better than everyone. That Passion is admirable, but here its directed in the wrong way, towards our community members rather than the problem therefore with the reports being filed and hostility plainly seen i have to take action. This thread will be locked for a time to allow tempers to cool and we can move past the hostility and discuss the topic like the mature adults i know we can all be. There's been some good points and suggestions made and i'd rather those be the focus than this anger.

It's probably not exactly going to carry across quite the same meaning as a great, long wall of text, and I do think Lucian's comments are at times uncalled for, but I do agree with him in terms that this site does indeed have issues, if not based on the community size, which is slowly but surely growing. I believe, and have believed for a long while now, long before we switched sites, that the primary issue has been one of games-to-player ratio, which I believe has grown far too large, and has at many points in the passed caused a 'bottleneck' effect, whereby many good games cease before they even start, leaving the remaining few to continue briefly until the new flavour of the week hits, and the cycle repeats. Indeed, already there is a great abundance of games springing up rights now, and while I'm definately not saying they cannot all coexist well, I'm simply saying that I wouldn't be surprised if history repeats itself.
Just thought I'd throw out my opinion, given the sudden build up in RPs recently, and of course my desire not to see this site, which we have all invested a great deal of time and effort into, shrivel or die.
