Hi everyone! I know I haven't been around for a while and over the next few months I intend to change that. I am here to propose a new idea I had for an RP, entitled Surviving the Swarm. Also known as Band of Heroes, villains and other.
Basically the premise is that someone, in a Dawn of War style setup, all of the galaxy's major players have landed on one planet that unfortunately comes under Tyranid attack, and the planet is defeated as a whole. However, through fates, Tzeentch's plans or just pure chance, a small group of the most unlikely allies come together for one goal: Survival.
The game will be run on a small scale, kill-team style game, with limited places. There will be one place for each major faction in 40k. The group will be thrown together, and forced to survive (possibly endless) hordes of Tyranids. I will be using modified 40k stats for this game, against the actual 40k stats of Tyranids. While this may be a little simple, I have never GMed before so this is just a way of easing into it and I ask anyone who is interested to be patient with me, please. The game will also have a mechanic called "Defying the odds." Basically it means, the weaker the character, and the squad overall, the less enemies you will have to face and I will be more likely to fudge the results in your favour. So if everyone chooses to go for an ultra badass psyker that can pulp planets with their pinkies, I'll drowned you in Shadow in the Warp and Carnifexes. On the other hand, if everyone goes for a bog standard trooper, odds are you'll go by unnoticed and maybe even escape the planet. Of course, I will only need to do such rolls, rulings and such at specified events. Random events, where I just throw in a horde of gaunts will be left up to the individual to write as they see fit.
NO GOD MODS, NO KILLING OTHER CHARACTERS WITHOUT PERMISSION BY ME OR THE OWNER.
As for the roles, you guys get to choose. There is some scope for choice, and only 1 player per faction is allowed, so first come, first served. I will take the role of Hive Mind in this game and if there is a shortage of players, a character pf my own.
