Uriel eyed Stubbs' battered collection of weapons with concern. It didn't look all that impressive. He'd stick with his grandfather's shotgun, it may be a bit old, but it had been well looked after and the ammunition was cheap and could even be homemade in a pinch. It was a shame there weren't any decent blades though, he'd felt like no fighter should be without a good knife.
The tattooed underhive thug was, predictably, the first to grab a weapon from the crate. He handled the weapon with more familiarity than Uriel was comfortable with. He then went to look at the schematics for the planned attack, scrunching his face up in concentration. Uriel could practically hear the cogs at work. He was surprised though, he hadn't expected the ganger to be able to read! The ganger mentioned something to Stubbs about getting a truck from someone who "owed him a favour". Uriel was unsure what exactly that meant, but it didn't sound pleasant.
Elina vanished into a side room, but Uriel remained leaning against the wall as he tried to get the measure of his companions. They seemed like an inexperienced bunch, but most of them seemed to be in it for similar reasons as him. His hands tightened involuntarily on the shotgun and his face darkened as he remembered the reason that had brought him here. In the end he guessed the outcome didn't matter, as long as he caused some measure of pain in to those that had taken his daughter from him.

"Racks back there?" Peter asked, his head turning to Stubbs. The older man nodded, and the younger took a few steps towards the door that Elina just passed through. "Hey, Curator, when I wake up I'll give you a crash on how to use that thing. Don't play with the nob on the side just incase you shoot yourself in the foot." With that last warning, he walked into the back room, not before grabbing his remaining weaponry.
He had given the weaponry in the crate a quick glance and immediately decided that his Cadia-pattern lasgun was more worthy of his time. The old scarred gun was his best friend, that's what his dad had taught him anyway. That, and the knife he'd retrieved from the table. It was a sharp, serrated thing that was as long as his forearm and had tasted more blood than he could even imagine. He would treasure it.
As he made his way into the small cramped bunk-room, he found a bottom mattress just across from where the clerk, Elina was laying. Sitting down, he took of his helmet - placing it by his side - and let his hair fall free. It wasn't too long, but he knew that if he was there, his father would disapprove.
Taking from around his neck his Aqulia, he studied it. It looked soft and old in the green of his combat gloves. The tarnished gold didn't shine too well, but still he stared at it as he prayed to himself.
"God Emperor, hear me. You are my strength You are my guardian. You are my saviour For this, I serve thee For this, I fight by thy side For this, I am your weapon. Give unto me the strength to see your word through Give unto me the strength to see your enemies cast down Give unto me the strength to see these dogs who call themselves your representatives dead"
Peter paused for a moment. The twin headed eagle stared back at the violet eyed youth, and he nodded slowly. His faith would see him through.
"Hail thee, Imperator, and may thy rule last for a thousand thousand more years"

Karus had learned a few things in his short and brutal life and one of them was that you never turn down a free smoke.
"That's what I'm talking about." He said, his face lighting up as he took one out of the man's offered box and immediately put it to his mouth where he lit it with the lighter that appeared in his other hand.
"Throne dammit, d'you know they're rationing these things out there? I hear they're even doing that up in the mid hive." Karus said suddenly, seeming to attempt to strike up a conversation with the man. "Mark my words, there's going to be a lot more like us soon enough..." He trailed off, muttering something under his breath about the high hive "pigs" as he found a bunk next to Sten's and sat on it unceremoniously.
"So what about you eh? What's your story?"

As Karus sat down on the bunk next to his, Sten made his way to his own to sit and have a conversation with the man. Blowing out the smoke he inhaled he started telling his story.
"I used to serve in the PDF, you know." He paused, and took another drag and exhaled. Went all through basic training just, and then on our first action I realize how corrupt this planet is."
Sten had to cough, the unhealthy sound interrupting the conversation.
"Well," He started again. "They had us fire at innocent civilians. I couldn't do it, and deserted at the first opportunity I had. I don't want to serve pigs like those spire-born."
Smoke circled around Karus and Sten as they both inhaled and exhaled smoke into the room.
"I ditched everything that could give me away as a deserter, and before I knew Quin contacted me when I was hanging out in a bar." I didn't have to think twice before accepting to join."
"What about you?"

Elina propped her head up and looked Peter
"So you're the pious type, I take it?" She said as he concluded his prayer

"The God Emperor is the only pure ruler we've ever had. Why do you think I'm fighting these bastard spire snakes?" The young revolutionairy looked at the clerk, and offered his aquilia "Do you wish to pray with me?" He kept talking as h awaited her answer, casting his eyes down just a little as he let his thoughts out "I'm hoping for a clean operation, and I think we'll need all the help we can get attacking those who are stronger. Ants against tigers...but with enough ants, even tigers will fall"

Danter took a look around the room at all the other members of this so called gang that were supposedly going to "change the world", slowly he stepped away into a corner where he could watch from afar. As he leaned back to sit lightly on a small table a shiver ran through his body at the realisation of just what he was doing. It was one thing to believe that something needed to be done, it was quite another to actually try and do something about it and the impending implications of what would happen to him if he was caught were all to prominent in his mind.
He didn't speak to any of the group, he didn't trust them, any one of them could be an undercover spy, maybe they suspected him of being a spy. He didn't like it and awkwardly started to pick at his nails, shortening them, a bad habit he had succumbed to after his ordeal of being left at the mercy of the Ork horde many moons ago while his lords casually signed away their lives for their own stupid reasons.
He didn't have to like it, but he needed to get along with this group if anything was to come of it. He'd need to work with them, though he was certainly going to keep his eyes peeled for the slightest sign of being betrayed.

This would never work, Lady almost groaned at the idea of it, such a bold attack wouldn't go unnoticed and it certainly wouldn't go unpunished. They'd be hunted for sure and she hadn't got to where she was by drawing attention to herself...well, not recently at least.
She climbed into a bunk and laid staring at the ceiling. She didn't care much for socialising or making friends, todays friend is tomorrow's enemy, that's what life had taught her no sense to disobey it. She checked every knife holstered to her body, making sure they where there securely but quick to draw. The same was true of the las-lock she had just acquired, lying next to her, it would make her bed mate for the night. She could tell it would be a long night, she never really did sleep much these days, ever fearful of what may happen if she did...it was a risk worth taking sometimes, but only where it was safe and this was not the place.
She rolled onto her side into a commanding position of the room, it was a weird collection of people, most weren't exactly warriors. What have you gotten into this time? She groaned. Congratulations, you've done it again, now watch as you all get killed. Well then....this is perfect.

Though she had never been the most devout, praying for some divine guidance before a great tribulation never hurt. She clasped her hands together as her old priest had taught her to and cast her head down, listening to Peter as he spoke. "Amen to that." she concluded lamely."Sorry, I'm not very used to praying with others."

Leaning close, he clasped his hands around Elina's. The Aquilia sat at the centre of their grip and Peter began to speak.
"Our Emperor, hear us. Though you are not here by our side in form, you are in our hearts in spirit. Your guiding light and holy power will aid us in this battle for our liberty and freedom." He paused, shifting his grip so that their hands were a little higher "My friend and I, we are but warriors who seek the freedom You fought so hard for all of those years ago. May you hear my words, and guide us."
He smiled as Elina said the final words, clumsy as they may have been, and moved back a little, drawing the Aquilia pendant from their combined grip. "I just hope the big guy heard us...and not praying with others is common, first time I've done it since my da passed"
