This is the story of Guardsman Daevus (Daev to his friends). Will he find glory, fortune and fame? Or die in T-minus 15 hours on the battlefield? We shall find out, for his fate is in our hands.
This is a single-sentence RP, just a bit of easy-going fun for those of you who enjoy 40k.
I shall begin. ---------------------------------------------------------------
Guardsman Daevus is a very ordinary man, fighting in the Emperor's wars and is currently about to be deployed against the terrifying Necrons.

He had heard that Necrons were easy to knock down but not easy to knock out, he began to pray for strength and willpower from the Emperor for this fight.

But for all his prayer, all his faith in the almighty God-Emperor who would surely shepard his immortal soul to everlasting glory, Daevus had a horrible, gnawing feeling that something terrible was going to happen.

Fortunately for him, due to a quartermaster's screw up he was issued a meltagun to fight the necrons and trooper Daevus started liking his odds of living more than five seconds a lot more.

Unfortunately for Daevus, he had never in fact been taught the holy prayers of activation for a meltagun - he now had a big hunk of metal to carry around till he found a techpriest to tell him exactly how to make it work.

Daevus looked around worriedly for a techpriest, he was most unfortunate in the fact that there was none around but very fortunate in the fact that he might be able to trade the weapon away for a lasgun.

It turned out the meltagun belonged to a guardsman in his platoon who happily traded the lasgun he'd been issued for Daevus' meltagun.

Suddenly the side of the landing craft disintegrated and dozens of men and even vehicles were sucked out by the rush of air as the behemoth plummeted through the sky, with skeletal intruders boarding via advanced hovering vehicles.

Deavus promptly pissed himself, before diving behind cover (A chimera transport that had been strapped down properly) and whispering prayers to the god-emperor, his lasgun clutched in white knuckled hands.

The next thing he knew, a towering Adeptus Astartes entered through the hull breach using a jump pack - crushing the Necron in the process - and extended a hand towards Daevus as he doth spoke, "Come with me if you want to live."
