I've been wanting to do this for a solid 2-3 years as many of you know, and I've got some free time... so if you fancy a tense, adrenaline-fuelled joy-ride that will probably result in all of you dying grisly deaths (be it at the hands of your fellow players or the claws of a Xenomorph). The year is 2187. Weyland-Yutani, more commonly known as the company, continues to expand its reaches throughout the galaxy. It lays claim to entire worlds which it begins to terraform, as per its slogan: Building Better Worlds. However, this is only one of Weyland-Yutani's corporate investments, as it has many others including the production of high-quality Synthetics and deep-space mining. In the outer rim where the influence of the government is like a distant echo, the company has almost total authority. One such world which has nearly completed the terraforming process is KV-827 AKA Narvus Secondus. In orbit of this planet is a large space station from which the company has orchestrated its affairs. From the highest corporate exec to the lowliest technician, it is home to hundreds of personnel. It also functions as an impromptu trade hub and in a sense, a general port. There are very few installations of this calibre in deep space, and it attracts all sorts of attention. It is a haven for a plethora of shady individuals and USMC ships in need of refuelling on long-range patrol alike. ------------------------------------------------------------------- In this game, you have a lot of freedom in terms of what kind of characters you'd like to play; You could be a an engineer, power-loader operator or any other typical worker on board the space station in the employ of the company, Or maybe you're on the planet? You could be a colonist trying to eke out a life on this new frontier, providing for your family. Perhaps you're part of the large-scale mining operation to exploit the vast raw materials on offer? Or maybe you're a colonial marine, on shore leave from your cruiser, These are just a few of many, many options. I'm encouraging creativity here guys! Knowledge of the setting is required for this game but let's be honest, everyone here is going to know the Alien universe. I was thinking the same thing XD.
I shall also fill out a character sheet and have it posted by the evening. I do have a few questions though as to how the alien works or what the predicament is, just so I can get a feel for how the game will play out. Is it a clone of, Alien: Isolation, or is it just going to follow the same idea but with a different situation overtaking the station, and how do you plan on working the alien?

I haven't been playing it, but close.. I have been following a few play-throughs on youtube which then prompted me to re-watch the first film for the umpteenth time. Then, seeing as I have some time off college I thought I'd make a game and I ended up scrapping my original idea when I realised I still hadn't done this game. Basically, this roleplay will probably be a train with no breaks. We're all along for the ride and we'll keep throwing more coal on the fire until we run out of tracks. We've got an established setting, the game has an established environment, and I have numerous tools as a GM to cause all kinds of fun situations to arise.. but so do you guys as players. If something's cool and awesome and fun and you can make it fit the story then I will sit back and applaud rather than worry about whether it fits into some over-arcing story because there probably won't be one except in the loosest sense. We'll just have a number of characters running around in this game and well... we'll see where that takes us. As for how the alien works... you can probably expect old school player events for at the very least initial encounters (I say initial tentatively... depends if you guys survive). Honestly I'm not worried about planning too far ahead. I'll just be a reactive/proactive environment surrounding your characters who are otherwise quite free to follow their own motivations and desires in the meantime. I'm quite a fan of 'sandbox' roleplays as some people may have noticed... my last game, Necromunda, was a huge scale version of that which I simply couldn't continue to micro-manage as well as having a full time social and educational schedule now. (Most people don't quite realise I spent the majority of most days working on that game behind the scenes or answering questions or doing PM stuff or writing events etc, it was no longer viable) But this.. this is the same type of idea at its simplest. --------- To answer your questions a little bit more specifically, silence, I won't be leading you guys into this with a set narrative. We'll just start the game up and see where our ideas take us. It is not a clone of Alien: Isolation, it would be very hard and probably quite boring to even attempt that in roleplay format because so much of that games' appeal comes from the atmosphere as well as the visual/audio stimuli, for obvious reasons. That said.. this isn't going to just be some action adventure. It will very much be a 'oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck we're all in serious danger' type of game... whether it builds slowly or your character ends up right in the thick of it almost immediately, well, we'll just have to see. There are also other environments besides the station. There's an entire planet down below, so the colonies and the wilds down there will be in play. There are also other ships, be they a licensed salvager, or a USMC frigate or a bulk freighter or an off the record vagabond vessel. Let's get creative as we go along guys.

Username: Silence Character Name: Emilia Synphia Age: 16 Career: School Affiliation: Weyland-Yutani (Mechanic) Personality: Rebellious, quick-witted, cold, and intelligent. Background: Born to a poor family, Emilia`s parents moved out to Teylanth and settled down to start a family. After two kids, Emilia was born amid her parents worst time. Without money and barely enough to feed 4 members, let alone a newborn, she was put up for adoption by her parents. She remained there for years growing up, and being educated by a local program for homeless youth, watching many of her foster siblings get adopted leaving her alone by the age of 10. She hadn't really had any structure brought to her life by either the orphanage or the schooling program, and so she grew rebellious. This lead to minor problems in her schooling, and what started as simple pranks and bad-doings, evolved to full-blown schemes and plots to commit atrocious crimes. It all came crashing down when her biggest scheme to date got her caught and arrested.
When the final months of her 10th year of school was coming to an end, Emilia had plotted to spice up her classes graduation with a few bangs and flashing colors. This entailed her planting commercial grade, in which she had stolen from a construction company, underneath the stage as well as link strobe-lights, around the auditorium, to a detonator. When the ceremony had come around, she had everything in place for a booming performance. As the ceremony commenced she detonated the explosives, showering the audience with wood fragments and knocking those on the stage in all directions. Panic ensued, but unfortunately the local law-enforcement agency had been following her trail and had showed up right as the explosives went off. In hysterical laughter and surrounded by chaos, she was quickly apprehended and brought in facing extreme charges.
Already having several ties with the local crimes, she was linked to those and sentenced to life in prison, but unfortunately for her that wasn't bound to be her fate. Weyland-Yutani, who had run the local schooling program, had taken a liking to the girl and seeing potential in her, bought her from her sentence and planned to use her in a grand experiment. Meanwhile, Emilia had no idea why she had been freed from her crimes, but wasn't going to question her second chance as she was brought to work on the station sitting in orbit around KV-827.
Other: Good with explosives, electronics, evading people, and fixing things. Now works as a mechanic. Appearance:
