Due to the recent crappification of my internet, I have difficulties accessing Darkstorm, making it also difficult for me to participate in "Shadow War" and run Legacy of the Jedi (Darko is doing a great job as stand-in GM while I sort out this problem)However that doesn't mean that I am not going to be involved in the site. Thus, I'm proposing an extremely simple game that should be fun, but also hone the literary skills of all involved.
Anyone who is participating has until a deadline to submit a short story or paragraph at or above the world limit. (But keep it at chapter-length at the most) The story will have certain parameters each time, but it brings the opportunity for writers to write about what they like and have others take a look at their skills. Once the deadline comes, all the stories should have been submitted, at which point I'll give out 'awards' and what have you (via ego-stroking ROTCS style medals)
Furthermore, once a story has been submitted, it can be critiqued, but ONLY if the author feels that it requires critiquing. Anyone participating can critique another's work.
finally, each challenge shall have certain rules which may differ, time to time, but will be clearly stated in the thread. The constants are
If you wish to join, state in the interest thread (Here)
Be respectful of all work. Even if it's atrocious, be tactful about it.
Post your story in the Content Thread, which will be in the "Writer's Block" not "Active Roleplaying Games"Section as that does not have a category forit.
Try and have as much fun as possible with it. It's not school, it's for entertainment.
And without further ado, I present the first challenge

The title of the pieces is: "What Madness Drives Them On?"
Rules:
Write a piece that has some relation to the title. It's very broad, so should be easy to twist to any meaning you wish.
Range: Shoot for anywhere between 2000 to 20,000 words. I'm not picky. Just don't go over 30 pages.
Deadline: January 12th (2015)
