Hello there people, as steam is producing a never ending stream of shitty visual novels (which will be referred to as VN's from now on) I have decided to after becoming half addicted to visual novels start recommending good ones to you all.
I will be providing a link to a site called VNDB and a site called fuwanovel with each recommendation, the VNDB (visual novel data base) contains more information on the visual novel if you are interested and fuwanovel is a site where you can download translated visual novels from, if you are against downloading them then I would say spend some yen to buy the visual novel from the developers and then install the translation on it but it does provide a download link for the full visual novel because that isn't always as easy said as done.
If you do not know what a visual novel is but are still interested here is a quick summary (pulled from wikipedia):
A visual novel (ビジュアルノベル bijuaru noberu?) is an interactive fiction game,[1][2] featuring mostly static graphics, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills (and sometimes video footage).[3] As the name might suggest, they resemble mixed-media novels.
In Japanese terminology, a distinction is often made between visual novels proper (abbreviated NVL), which consist predominantly of narration and have very few interactive elements, and adventure games (abbreviated AVG or ADV), which may incorporate problem-solving and other types of gameplay. This distinction is normally lost outside Japan, where both NVLs and ADVs are commonly referred to as "visual novels" by international fans. Visual novels and ADVs are especially prevalent in Japan, where they made up nearly 70% of the PC game titles released in 2006.[4]
