The Screaming Vortex. Great artistry swathed in blood and death by it's otherworldly painters. Here the Ruinous Powers rule true, if not directly. It's various uncounted worlds are constantly awash in tides of battle and massacre, while masterminds plot treacheries and the cruel spread unimaginable suffering. The galaxy may know only war, but here we see some of it's truly darkest reaches. Here, law changes on a whim if it exists at all, and the lives of trillions are more often that not put in the hands of whatever mad greed-driven warlord decides to lay claim to them.
To the imperium this place is of course filled beyond the brim with heresy, and horrors that no decent member of mankind could withstand for long. This si in part true, for those lucky (or unlucky) heretics that find themselves in the Vortex are free from witch-hunters and purging by the mighty justices of the Corpse God. Instead they face the eternal challenges of war on a different note, as they inevitably get caught up in the power struggle of limited sides.
These such heretics include the fallen angels, those of the Adeptus Astartes that have been tempted by promises of wealth, power, knowledge pleasure and more. As well as the traitor legions, veterans of the long war millenniums ago who slew their brothers on and off Terra at the behest of Lorgar and Horus, the former Warmaster. Titans in power armor, bearing horrific mutations not unlike those of Chaos' more mortal servants they bathe the galaxy in blood and arcane flames, boiling the very essence of space and reality at times simply with their grotesque appearances.
And this says nothing of mind-melting demons, beings of the warp with workings unimaginable by all but the most unholy, devout and heretical.
But for some, the Vortex is less a place of chaos and more the only existence they have known. Primitive peoples scrabble for survival on planets of living swamps, constant hailing rain and eternally lava-sundered ground. it is here that many are born, live and die in an instant and the fate of entire wrodls is left to the whims of invisible cosmic forces.
But there are vile purposes in the plans of chaos for all of the above, and so much more. From your standard scarred/tattooed heretic or savage to seduced xenos and corrupt power armored angels of death, Chaos selects it's tools of horrifying trade.
And as the entire Vortex is populated with ambitious warlords of all sizes and natures it is no surprise that the Ruinous Powers find it childishly easy to test their weapons of war. One such warlord is known only as Dominus, or for those low gothic speakers "The Dominant", and his newly formed warband has quickly begun terrorizing the sector unshackled.
You? You call this Warband your 'allies' a preferable term to the truth, servitude within it's ranks. You are a powerful heretic no doubt, but at the moment your rols is to conquer in the name of another. Be you heretek, chaos space marine, sorcerer, chem lord or anything in between you have found your place among mostly helpful allies. Dominus has grand schemes, and if you are careful you may live to see them come to fruition.
You find yourself on Xurunt, a simple primitive world filled with regardless threatening dangers...
---------------------
This is a simple enough concept I hope, you are all members of a chaos warband.
The name of the warband is "The Sovereign Horde".
Characters can be very diverse, I like diverse. I'll be monitoring your applications though, of course.
Human heretics, csm, maybe even Xenos are all allowed. Pitch me an idea, see if I like it. that kind of thing.
Nobody needs to be worried about there being too many close combat characters, or not enough x characters or what ever. What i will say though, is only one of each archetype.
I can almsot garuntee you guys wont all be working together at the same time, and as the game goes some of you are boudn to go off on your own assignments or even be a planet or two away from some of the other players.
Name: (imperial given or heretically chosen, it is your choice)
Race: (human/csm/xeno etc. no demons)
Origin: (Where are you from? If a CSM, what did you do before joining the warband? Did you have a previous warband or were you a lone wolf? What got you noticed by the Sovereign Dominus?)
Archetype: (i will compile a list of archetypes below, but you are not limited by them. If using an archetype not listed, explain it a little.)
Motivations: (everyone wants something, and the motivations of heretics are diverse and often terrible.)
Personality: (not too hard to grasp eh?)
Mutations: (if any, note that there are downsides.)
Appearance: (description or image)
Equipment: (don't get crazy with the amount, but don't be afraid to go extravagant either. most CSMs will be limited to legion gear and/or specialized gear from their legions or archetypes. Human heretics have a bit more equipment freedom as do xenos. Remember to include things that are not necessarily weapons or armor if you wish. Some heretics may list underlings or minions in this section as well.)
Other:

The game will start around the 4-6 player mark, with six players probably serving as the cap.
