Dr Astrid "Frankenstein." Portner Fregattenkapitän, Exiled German Kreigsmarine Revenant Project Head Out of all of JABDSCOM's officers and support staff, few are as hated yet respected as Fregattenkapitän Portner, head of the Revenant Project. records of her service and posting were lost when Germany burned, but it is known she took command of a Kreigsmarine Destroyer during the exodus, her own uniform torn and bloody, engaged and defeated an Alien counterpart, and towed its still burning carcass to England where it could be studied, earning her a heroic reputation with allied troops for showing this enemy can be defeated. She used this pull to ensure her position as the foremost expert on alien tech, and after the successful development and testing of V-1 and V-2 "Vengence" weapons, rocket propelled terror weapons reverse engineered from alien engines, her presence was mandatory wherever alien tech was to be researched. She was the one who ordered the fateful test to continue after its subject died from neural shock, leading to the breakthrough that would permit humans to actually use alien tech, not just imitate it, and was nicknamed Franeinstien by her political opponents for her willingness to experiment on and converse with corpses. Her "defiling"of honored war dead has made her no shortage of enemies from civilians and even fellow officers who know little of her work, but those who work with her on the project are certain that none treat the dead with more reverence than her. When a wreck is found, she is there to don diving suit and recover the captain, when a returned wants to be sent back across the veil she does so, without question. The revenents are not conscripts, given a weapon and sent to fight, but trusted officers and sailors, and they fight out of duty and love of their homelands. Portner is almost never seen far away from the labs or underground pen where the revenant ships are housed, when not testing and integrating the fallen heroes with their ships, she can be seen walking their decks or conversing with the Captains, and every ship in the fleet has the frequency of her own radio set where they can talk, rage or weep at her. No matter the time of day or what she happens to be doing, she will listen, comfort or advise, for she is the midwife to their return and if nothing else, they thank her for finding them in the dark, cold depths and bringing them home. Perk: Comforting Pain.
When the Doctor is close, Revenants find their minds calmer and memories sharper, If she is aboard a ship in the same fleet as the Players, they all gain an increased chance of Memory Bleed. Memory bleed is a chance that a damaged player ship suffers a flashback to their first death and causes bizarre secondary effects in the alien tech throughout their ship. when this occurs, they are teleported to a random location within 15 km of their original position, regain a small amount of HP and their main weapons are instantly reloaded. this can occur when she is not present.

I want Carriers to be rare and valuable, so if there's one or more in the fleet, its an NPC that needs escorting, also, the strength of a Carrier is its planes, and a revenant carrier would have little advantage over a normal one. Couldn't revenant just get improved drone planes? But eh, makes sense. I guess i will have to do wiki walk for cruisers.

]I like the personalize idea, ok, if yous elect a class i'll allow you to move a dice or a point around for example if you want your battleship to have more firepower, you can take an AA dice and move it up to firepower, if you want better Armour you can reduce your evasion and put the point there. I should also mention you can't decease a save past 6+ or increase it past 2+, and you must have at least one dice in each attack stat So if I wanted to take the U-boat does that mean I could take the AA dice out and give myself a better evasion stat?

I can't think of a reason to forbid it, so go ahead.

It could be like someone flinging their own poo at someone. Like imagine a ship going "phllllbbbbbt!" and using giant ghost arms to throw ghost planes at people.

If theres still space i want to join, i wanna play as a Pocket battleship (essentially an upgunned CA) if possible. Although all of those didnt exactly have the most exciting faiths... It would really be battleships or battlecruisers if i want a heroic german death.

Say Lord Harrab , where would "normal" cruisers fall into rule wise since there are only rules for light/heavy version?

Say Lord Harrab , where would "normal" cruisers fall into rule wise since there are only rules for light/heavy version? That's a good question , although like admiral says, i can only recall cruisers being one of the two classes, with specialist types like torpedo cruisers an Anti aircraft cruisers still being defined under those classes. USS Atlanta, for example, was an Anti-aircraft cruiser but was listed as a CL (Light cruiser) IJN Maya, was a Tako class Heavy cruiser remodeled likewise for anti-aircraft duty. So for now while i think and look into things, i'll say pick which class best suits the ship you have in mind

Something that just occurred to me, all those considering Destroyers or light cruisers, try and pick the best target for your torpedo runs, as without a memory bleed, you'll not be able to reload your tubes without a fleet supply ship or a return to port.
