The Dwarven Kingdom, famed for its armoured warriors, grand artitecture and innovative design when it comes to creations and invention.
Although the method of creating Golems has all but gone now, with the few remaining being left to defend the underground gates to the Dwarven Kingdom, the Dwarfs still possess a wide variety of war machines and creations designed to wreck havoc upon their enemy and have even put their prowess into creating warmachines for use above ground to aid their allies.
FireBlaster
Mounted upon a heavily armoured wagon, the FireBlaster is a steam powered flame thrower, using a high pressure tank to expel a fine stream of tar a medium distance. This tar could then be set alight by an archer to set alight those sprayed in the liquid or even create walls of fire to deflect or channel incomming infantry. Alternatively a small flame at the base of the nozzle can turn the stream into a burning spray of hot death but at huge risk of setting the FireBlaster itself on fire.
MiniCannon
The aptly named MiniCannon is a collection of 50 small version cannons mounted on an armoured wagon and capable of launching 50 simutanious shots at once into an enemy. Whilst the weapon itself does not possess the stopping power of it's larger brethren it plays an important role in decimating infantry movements and taking out gun emplacements and is a common sight in Dwarven armies.
MegaCannon
Whilst smaller than cannon of other nations the Dwarfs just seem to be able to make there's better. The short barrel of the cannon when lit is capable of hurling larger cannon balls faster and further causing devastation where ever it lands. Two are often fitted on top a larger armoured wagon with a duel angling device made of levers and rods to ensure the two cannons balls will never strike each other once launched. This mechanism also allows a custom made cannon to be used which features strong chains linking the two balls together. When launched into crowded formations it can tear huge swaves of people in two.
Steam Rollers
This is one of the few inventions that requires two wagons for it to function. The first is a normal sized weapon featuring a steam powered engine to provide power to the second via hose. The second is a double or triple sized wagon carrying hollowed out logs. Fitted to the outside of these logs are an array of spinning spikes linked to an internal drive. The Engine charges each log turning it into a spinning log of death which can then be launched by the purpose built trebuchet aboard the larger wagon, sending spinning spiked logs into the fray whose momentum is not slowed down by impacting the ground thanks to its internal engine. Being the newest invention to see action it is highly regarded as dangerous to both enemy and operator.
BombBlasterTanks
A huge steam engine sized metal tank fitted aboard a giant armoured wagon. Huge amounts of fuel is added to the firebox during the battle which is then sealed to prevent the pressure build up from being released. As soon as the pressure gauges reach critical the tank is released from its holdings to roll violently down towards the enemy to explode, sending shrapnel in all directions. This device while highly difficult to use and aim is a devastating weapon and the greatest care is needed at all times to prevent causing major injury to their own forces.
Devils
Known as devils these are light weight short distance gliders, launched from a modified slingshot across enemy lines and allowing pilots to manually drop its cargo atop the enemy. Difficult to fly and being at the whims of the wind makes the Devils and unpredictable machine and a liability
The Dreadnought
The apex of Dwarven mastery of steam and serving as a replacement to the Golems, Dreadnoughts are huge walking metal creatures using a steam powered engine on its back to power the gears and cogs hidden within its armoured shell. Featuring two MegaCannons where its hands would be, the dreadnought it capable of wading into battle and wrecking havoc, it's only vulnerable spot being the engine on its back. The secrets of how it reloads has not been revealed by the Dwarfs.
Ok, so just a few examples of some Steampunk inspired devices. Let me know what you think or whether it's OTT. I'm mindful that if the Dwarfs have access to this kind of weaponry it might be best keeping them a very small unit that supports the armies of others rather than being an army in its own right. Maybe limit what can be taken so that those who pick other forces like Empire or Elves have a much more varied selection of troops types to choose from with Dwarfs having a small but powerful punch that they can bring to bear when requested. Otherwise everyone will want to have epic weapons of destruction so this way it gives dwarfs a good disadvantage on top of what I added to their profile.
Alternatively, a battlegroup of Dreadnoughts?
What I'm basically saying is, I wanna be da Dwarf!!
