I am definitely a bit late to the party when it comes to Bloodborne but I have recently picked it up and was surprised that nobody else has made a thread concerning it. I guess nobody else here has been willing to "git gud" as it were... I won't bother with spoilers because the game's been out for a fairly long enough time and I'm still early game as it stands.
Anyways on to the point, I am roughly 6 hours into the game and have managed to slay two bosses so far and those are the Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne. I will also say that I am roughly 40 deaths into the game with 15 of those to Cleric Beast, 6 on the way to Cleric Beast, 4 on the way to Father Gascoigne, and 5 to Father Gacoigne with the remaining 10 due to plain messing around and experimenting. Gascoigne was much, much easier after I got the parry mechanic down for him and by the time he turned he only had 1/4 of his health left.
I will shamelessly add that I did my best to just throw molotovs at the cleric beast, one visceral attack occurred the entire time because I've got a blunderbuss and it doesn't aim at heads that well.
And true to the distinct feeling I get from FROM software games, I have never felt more disappointed when the giant door behind Cleric Beast didn't open up at all. Then I got to that Cathedral Ward area and somehow got knocked into the air and took frenzy damage, or I dunno if it was the frenzy damage that knocked me into the air, or if it was just a glitch. Anywho, the pale dudes with bells and lanterns are kinda easy and the giant ones just take a little more time.
Using the threaded cane and going with a skill build I guess, should be remotely interesting. Now if I can figure out this insight mechanic that might also be a bit helpful seeing as though I know I can spend it and I know that if I have 0 the doll doesn't talk. At the point I'm at I'm just farming blood echoes to buy that chief key thing, so I would think that that's fairly early game considering how well I usually play these games and unfortunately this time I am most likely not going to have any assistance whatsoever so that is going to put a bit of a pickle into the sticky wicket.
