Hey guys, this thread is for discussion of how we can improve activity on the site. If you have any ideas let me know! And if you know anyone who might enjoy being a part of what we do here or just enjoys writing in general - let them know about this place and see if they're interested.

As newcomers feel free to take our advice with a grain of salt. But in our experience site activity is usually reliant on the regulars. If the regulars play a lot, then people come to join in, if there's little activity from the established player base, then few will bother. The secret to making a site like this work? Regulars being active. If your regulars aren't being active, ask them why. If it's 'life' then consider starting the site anew elsewhere, or putting it in hibernation. Because until they come back it won't improve.

Of course, naturally. I have been chasing down some of the old regulars recently to inform them we're getting things going again here.
Strangely, in past years where the site was active with all of our old regulars we had surprisingly low traffic and rarely got new users, so I may look into ways to advertise the site to more RP lovers.

The issue was the divide caused by that drama, sadly it still goes on. I'd say take close note to make sure it doesn't repeat, we'll just need new regulars.

Of course - long term it only exists as a learning experience to look back on. Every problem is an opportunity to learn if nothing else. Although even before that many regulars started to sign up to games without committing once they started which often led to them dying off which is something we need to tackle. Obviously a lot of us are adults with commitments and busy lives but part of that is being responsible enough to not impede games if we are too busy for them. Fortunately I think everyone here at the moment is mature enough to not do that now, but perhaps a general guideline of not committing to more than one or two games per person will be good advice to spread in the future to new members so they aren't tempted to get caught up in the excitement of so many RPs.

It appears they've removed it now, but I wasn't directly involved myself so I don't know all the details and don't remember a lot of it now anyway. Sort of looked like a disagreement between friends, some mods and some not, which was handled a bit childishly by nearly everyone involved leaving the group of regulars split with a group of them leaving. But, like Dark says there was a few issues to begin with; a lot of the guys were just getting into uni I think so there were commitment issues and given that they put the random chatter into the skype group it sort of left the site to slow down.
