Backstory:
Having been born as the eldest son of shipyard workers, man who would become Karl had spent most of his life around machinery. As he grew up under the constant stress of both the clone wars and the resulting ascension of the Empire, Karl grew with sense of pride regarding the massive steel beasts that were built within his homeworld.
Taking the first steps to his way towards becoming proper shipbuilder by taking engineering degree, Karl had his first encounter with how the empire actually worked. Him constantly losing both study and work opportunities to corruption and nepotism which made him hate what he considered left over corruption from the Old republic increasingly more.
After being dismissed from his engineering position and replaced owners family member with no qualifications, he decided that something needed to be done with the rot that was eating the system. Him encountering a imperial recruiter over drinks that provided the means for such. Entering the imperial academy as officer cadet despite his family opposing it to a point of disowning him, he become KL-599. With his pre-existing education and skills from working with machinery, he made quick advancement within the stormtrooper program and was deployed into Vader's fist after the recommendation from visiting general.
Within the 501th, KL-599 served with distinction under the command of first lieutenant and later captain Grisham as part of recon unit. Within his years of service, he fought in several planets and ships while never truly encountering the elusive enforcer personally outside of parade formations, something that KL-599 would be grateful for even when the empire was long gone.
His service ended with battle of Hott as he got blown up by satchel charge thrown by rebel trooper while storming the final trench line of the rebel base. Stuck bleeding on the ground with his legs being stumps while the battle raged around him, it was the rapid intervention of his captain that allowed his survival. Even after all these years, KL-599 still can't help to resent him for that.
Following the battle, KL-599 was stuck on hospital ship while his comrades marched onwards into Endor. Few if any come back from that campaign. Restrained into his medical bed, he could do little but to watch as the medical droid rapidly cut his broken flesh and replaced it with cold durasteel. In within that bed he watched as the Empire he had grown up in crumbled to pieces with constant holonews blaring behind the droid scalpels.
As the rebels came for the hospital ship during their post death star offensive, KL-599 was able to escape the vessel by disguising himself as medical prisoner by switching beds with another patient after crushing their head and hacking his medical profile in the chaos of the boarding attack. Within the chaos of the supposed rescue operation, he was able to sneak out of his leash and out into the greater world.
Eventually adopting the name Karl from his stormtrooper designation, Karl made his way towards the outer rim with the help of other straggler. Group travelled in a cargo freighter until the infighting became too much and their vessel become stranded in space as Karl was forced to gun down the others. Stuck in the void, he made the discovery of the flight tutorial manuals and spend several days figuring out how the vessel worked. This would prove to be the start of his days working as freight and dropship pilot on gig contracts along the outer rim where he would be away from the pretended state of new republic.
Still bitter about the fall of empire and the backstabbing of his original band of stragglers, he avoided the imperial remnants with best of his ability while stabbing the republic personnel when given change.
It was this life that left him to eventually to Bontooine after his contract as pilot to local private military group ended much to his displeasure.
Following the close encounter at Bontooine, he ended up getting stranded on Smuggler's Moon with disjointed crew, broken hyperdrive and empty wallet. After several strange encounters, he ended up meeting Mandalorian bounty hunter and Victoria. Three of them then joined hands at defiling the corpse of late captain for sake of profit. He may have started city wide gang war in the process.
During his visit to Victoria's apartment, he made unnerving discovery that his cybernetics included hidden kill-switch. During the capture and resulting un-capture of few of his crewmates, he took part of the raid against Hutt Warlord Gordulla and his resulting death. Leaving the burning tower with pockets full of coin, bloodstream full of combat drugs and wearing clone armour, he was ready to leave the planet.

Backstory:
Having been born into spacer family during the clone wars, Victoria has been living under a threat of blaster as long as she can remember. Whatever it was Old republic and their hordes of slave clones led by their cultist overlords, imperials with delusions of grandeur or Hutts gorging themselves in stolen wealth, there always has been someone around to point rifles at people.
Following the shattering of the CIS, what was left of her family hid among the hutt space, where they were picked off one by one by either blaster bolts or small print. Victoria herself eventually ended up as "Apprentice" under one of the street doks operating under one of the many hutt overlords. The bitter alien having brought her out of spite for one his rivals, had no love for the human and made sure to make his distaste clear. Still, the fleshsmith did teach her how to properly tend to the various criminals that crawled to his shop and what to do with those that can't pay.
Following her late mentors death during botched robbery where he was shot in the back around the time of battle of Endor, Victoria has operated as roaming medic in the outskirts of criminal underworld. Without much attachment for Hutts and their petty kingdoms, she had been looking for way out of the region without getting tangled into debt to someone that she can't deal with.
Following fateful encounter with certain two bounty hunters carrying the dead corpse of certain rebel captain, Victoria joined forces with Karl and served as fixer between rest of the crew and a weapon merchant called "The rat".
Following the successful deal, she was enthusiastically hired to help rest of her new found crew rescue their captured friends and murder a Hutt in progress. Along the way, she contacted the elusive "Client" and used their mutual goals to archive successful infiltration and rescue of the crewmates. Alongside this, Victoria discovered old gene authenticator that will bring her closer to the her goal, wherever it might be.
