Matt turned around. He'd just finished putting on the excersise attire and hoped the baggy clothes wouldn't be too much trouble...they'd damn sure be a deadweight if mr trigger-happy used the hose again.
"Hey," he said in greeting. "Matt DeBohun." He accepted the man's handshake and nodded towards the other locker rooms. "Where you from?"

"I grew up in a little town in Wisconsin called Calumet. But then I came here to study at the university and I guess I've never looked back." Cade said. He scratched his chin. It'd been a long time since he'd thought of the sleepy little town he was born in. "How about you?"

"I grew up in DC but lived in Wales a lot of my life actually. Just got outta college, joined the force, got transferred. Not much but it's something." Matt nodded at the other changing rooms. "I hope they don't try bitching about each other on the job." He grinned.

"If their waiting room conversations are anything to go by, I'm sure that'll be all they do. Hell, if it weren't for that man and his hose I think those two chicks might've thrown down." Cade said. His wolfish grin revealed his elongated canine teeth.

Matt nodded at his teeth. "You're a vampire? I wouldn't have pegged you as one. They usually look a little...older. No offense."

Cade waved his hand dismissively. "None taken. I'm only 25. Got bit when I was 19. Truth be told, I don't get along too well with the older vamps. Most are gigantic pricks to me just because I haven't been around since the dawn of time." He said.
"The prejudice is definitely worse in the vampire settlements in Alaska and Siberia, but it's still present here."

"Siberia." Alex said as he came around the corner of the lockers. He had changed into some track shoes and sweatpants and was currently throwing on a sweatshirt over an undershirt. He made a disgusted "pfffft" noise as he pulled it over his head.
"Spent three months there on deployment when I used to work for the government." He shook his head. "All my friends got to spend their time finding whatever passes for prime Siberian ass. And what do I get? Long range patrols in the winter. Worst fucking posting ever." He chuckled and then looked at the two younger men.
"Alex Thorne." He said introducing himself as he picked up and ran a towel through his wet hair. "You two seem alright. But that proctor, the one with the hose? Man with such a large sprayer has to be...compensating for something, right? Eh?" He chuckled again, but stopped suddenly, unsure if his joke was funny or not. He'd been living here for decades and it was still hard for him to tell what Americans would laugh at.

Arthur stood at a doorway that opened into a much larger room hidden save for a small vision slit in the door. He stood there, trusty clipboard at his side, waiting for all of the cadets to change into their fresh recruit gear. The mere thought of the itchiness of the sweatpants he had to wear the day of his course run made him scratch his left leg. He could hear some murmurings coming from both of the locker rooms, no yelling at least so that was a good sign. Arthur whistled as some of the cadets finally began to file out of their respective locker rooms.
"Ah yes," Arthur began "so you lot are finally ready to begin this test. Look at all of you in your spiffy new track gear." Arthur faked a tear "They grow up so fast." he continued to mock to the dismay of several cadets. "Well this is going to be a standard test first you're going to sprint 50 meters, you're going to see a table this table has a gun on it, you will use this gun to fire three rounds at a paper target 25 yards away. After firing three shots you will run towards a wall, this wall has a rope attached to it, you will climb this wall using said rope and then hop down to the other side. There will be another table with another gun and you will use this one to fire at a target 75 yards away. Then you get to climb another wall that has been sprayed down with water, then for the last part of the course you will have to face the hose. But hey, at least this time you have a chance to jump out of the way if you want to!"
Arthur seemed rather pleased with himself as he looked into the obstacle course room, "Oh!" he said as he whipped back around to face the cadets, "By the way there are some officers in there in the bleachers, don't mind them, they're just taking bets to see who does the best on the course.".
"So good, luck, and Ms. Graves you will be running the course first." Arthur said as he opened the doors to the course and revealed a large, bright room filled with the course, bleachers, and a larger area filled with gym equipment. The bleachers held at least 50 officers chatting with each other, and other officers were standing along the path to the course in various states of conversation. Some of them even cheering out certain names of the cadets, obviously indicating their bets. It was going to be a rather interesting set of events. "Don't mind them," Arthur said as he approached the beginning of the course, "you lot stand here and begin running as soon as I call your name on the gym's speakers.".

Cade smirked almost imperceptibly at the instructor's comments. The Russian was right, he probably was compensating for something. That or he truly was crazy, a definite possibility given his bizarre mannerisms.
But he ignored those thoughts as he entered the gymnasium. It was large, bright, and packed with spectators, some of whom began whooping and cheering as they entered the room. Cade even thought he heard his own name once or twice. Performing in front of large crowds had never been his favorite thing, but he was not going to let that stop him from doing his best on this test.

The cadets waited at the start of the course, Arthur excitedly waiting at the end with a hose in one hand and a microphone in the other.
"Graves, April" the speakers echoed Arthur's voice, "approach the line and start at the buzzer.". The crowd began to hush and most seemed to wait with bated breath. April got into a runner's stance and could barely contain herself, she was sure she would set the bar for the others. The room echoed with the buzzer and she took off with a great burst of speed, cheering erupted from the stands as they saw the timer stop. They watched eagerly as she placed all of her rounds within the target's circle, and continued with a most spectacular display of physical abilities. It was most impressive, even for a werewolf it was. She climbed the second wall and saw the infamous hose, the rest of the course was cake, this would probably be even easier. As she tried to jump out of the way of the hose, she slipped and the water smacked her face causing her to fall backwards, an audible crack resounded as her head hit the gym's floor. A loud "oooh" echoed from the bleachers while some laughed and others winced. "Come on now, get up little lady." Arthur said as he sauntered over and helped lift her from the floor. "Don't call me that." she said as she allowed herself to be helped up.
"Go sit on that bench over there." Arthur said as he pointed to one against the back wall. "Summers, Victoria!" Arthur boomed through the speakers. Victoria moved towards the line as elegantly as she could, the pomp of her movements very off putting to the crowd. At the sound of the buzzer she began a rather stiff looking run, the crowd began to laugh at the lack of power behind the woman's stride. "You're making humans looks bad" an officer called out as she finished her sprint, many others took part in laughing as she put three rounds through the center of the first target. "That doesn't prove anything" a single member of the stunned audience shouted. As she made her way up the first rope climb one of her nails got caught and the sudden shock caused her to loosen her grip. Luckily she regained her composure before falling off of the rope completely. The laughing resumed until the second target when the silence resumed, and then the second rope climb brought more mirth to the audience. She landed, out of breath, and attempted to dodge the hose only to take a shockingly cold blast to the chest. Victoria muttered to herself as Arthur pointed to the bench and she slowly made her way to the bench with her head held low, fists clenched in rage.
"Harlock, Cade!" came the call and soon after, a buzzer. Cade gave a completely normal performance with the crowd hem hawing about whether or not they should cheer or boo. "I'll show them something impressive then." Cade thought after noticing little reaction from the crowd after his second set of target shooting. Cade jolted towards the slick rope and with gusto, sped up the rope. "Oh yeah, the vamp finally does something." someone called out amongst the cheers. However, Cade has used up too much energy during this stunt to avoid the hose in it's entirety, he stumbled but caught himself as he made his way towards the bench. He chuckled to himself at his performance as he sat next to the two ladies who had just taken then test. Victoria was still muttering about the hose and the water.
"Fisher, Morgan." summoned the trainer. The buzzer went off and in her excitement, Morgan tripped and fell face first onto the floor. The crowd roared in laughter as she struggled to pick herself up and make a good time on the sprint, her face bright red from embarrassment. As she tried to steady her aim the thought of the fall crept into her head, she imagined that smug bitch Victoria mocking her for the fall. Her shots went wild and a loud ping rang out as one even bounced off of the target's stand and was sent flying into the stands. "Hey you stupid sonuvabitch!" someone screamed as the shot went into the female officer's arm. Morgan climbed the rope and heard an audible "whump" from the stands when she picked up the gun for a second time, she swore under her breath as she placed the shots on target and made her way up the second rope climb. She barely had time to recognize the fact that Arthur still had his hose as she took a blast to the face that sent her back into a sitting position. The crowd cheered at her being punished for the ricochet from earlier. As she approached the bench she could see Victoria smirking a little, "You look like a snake trying to smile." Morgan said indignantly as she took a seat. "At least I didn't shoot anyone." Victoria said proudly as Arthur called the next name.
